Bernhard Meyer, A broken man with a troubled past full of loss has nothing left to live for and attempts to turn his life around by serving his country in the war. Bernard is placed in a U-boat crew and is deployed for naval battle in the Atlantic Ocean. Whilst carrying out this operation, the U-boat sustains enemy. Bernhard wakes up from the explosion and all of his fellow crewman have vanished. The U-boat is critically damaged and is slowly taking on water. Bernhard realizes that he does not have much time left, being mortally wounded by shrapnel from the explosion. As a last ditch effort, he attempts to use the radio to call for help, only to hear a voice from his past that he recognizes. This is his chance to deal with his past trauma and move on peacefully to the afterlife.
